Today I fucked up… by checking myself out

You know how sometimes you just need to look in the mirror to check if you are looking okay so you just decide to check the nearest reflection you can find? That is what happened to me this past tuesday. 

My family and I had just pulled into a crammed parking lot and we were getting ready to eat at this restaurant. I decided to wait more in the parking lot area instead of with my family who was waiting closer to the restaurant when I just had the sudden urge to make sure I was looking okay. So, what most people would do was to go find a mirror or some kind of reflection. And it was perfect for me because I happened to be standing by this random car with a window that was tinted pretty dark. 

So here I am checking myself out with the window of a random car, you doing the whole pick food out of my teeth, put my hair up in a bun, and rub my face to make my eyebrows look okay routine. Then all of a sudden I see this movement in the reflection. I start looking all around to see if there was a person behind me but I was totally confused because there was nobody there. So I continue on with fixing appearance until I see another movement. Of course I think ‘holy shit holy shit there is someone thats playing a trick behind me’ so I do the most logic thing to do and go looking for the culprit who is trying to trick me. And by looking for the culprit I mean searching around this random car and others around it until i look back towards the restaurant and see this horrified face of a lady. 

At first I’m confused because she starts walking quickly towards me until she is a couple feet in front of me putting her arms out as in a defense position and slowly walks around me, still staring at me like i was the devil. I am confused as heck at this point until she goes up to the car window I was checking myself out in and opens the door to reveal a crying child sitting in the car. 

I am now engulfed in embarrassment as I watch this lady take her child out of his seat and to the drivers door to open and turn on the car. Immediately I try to tell her that I was just checking myself out but realized I sounded even more stupid and crazy. They quickly drove away and i was left standing their utterly shocked processing what just happened. Standing in embarrassment I realized she probably thought I was going to steal her child. Everything I did while I was checking my appearance just made me look like a child kidnapper and it ended up on my list of very embarrassing moments.
